Do you travel outwith Inverness?
Yes we do! We will travel to wherever the customer is, whether that's up in Caithness or down in Dumfries! If you are further away, we will typically try to get all the information needed beforehand, so when we arrive we know exactly what to expect and what you'd like us to do.
Can you special order?
Absolutely! Contact Us with what you're looking for and we're and we will see what we can do.
Will you do any saltwater products and services?
At this time, no. In the future we'd love to dive into the sea of saltwater products and services but as a couple who have only taken care of tropical fish, shrimp and snails we do not want to sell goods or services without having extensive knowledge to support us and our customers. As always, it's the fish that have the most important role!

Highland Fishkeeping is a product of passion, and the drive to provide our customers with all the knowledge we have when it comes to fishkeeping. We are eager to teach and help others with their aquariums, and are able to do so by providing the services we do. Each customer gets a completely tailored service, whether it's routine maintenance or if it's just needing a helping hand getting a filter set up, we're happy to help :)
Will you be selling fish in the future?
It's on the cards! We're looking into this, and it's one of the top items on our To-Do List. We'd be aiming to focus on fish that live comfortably in the water conditions of the Highlands.
How much would routine aquarium maintenance cost?
Because the needs of every fish and every tank can vary so differently, it's difficult to put a price on a job until we see photos and have a chat. Each service is completely tailored as well, because of our type of work we understand that each customer may be more available at unusual work times. If you're looking to get an estimate, we would love to hear from you! We would usually need to know what fish are in the aquarium, the work you're looking to have done, the size of tank (a picture would be great!) what filters you run, and any other information that would be different than usual (such as CO2 being added, medication ect) You are more than welcome to give us a message, we love to have wee chats with people about fishkeeping! And by no means are you obligated to continue with our services should you wish to stop using HFK.
Do you set up aquariums for businesses?
We do! We can set up and maintain aquariums in a business premesis. If you have a business and would like to spruce up the front hall or an office, give us a message to learn more!
